About the UH Statistics Authority

The independent public body responsible for stewardship and integrity of the official statistics system.

The UH Statistics Authority provides independent oversight and governance for official statistics, including ONS and the wider Government Statistical Service relationship.

It is distinct from the Cabinet Office policy machinery and from the departments whose administrative data may be used to produce statistics. Sponsorship or machinery placement does not permit ministers to rewrite statistical results.

No HRC predecessor is asserted merely because an older audit, statistics or data team produced counts or spreadsheets.
